He revolutionized 20th century photography in a powerful way,
                                                                 leaving  a  contemporary  mark  on  the  fashion  image.  Fashion
                                                                 with which Richard Avedon forged a deep bond by immortali-
                                                                 zing the Versace brand in the eighties and nineties. Some of the
                                                                 most iconic shots - 106 to be precise, taken from the extensive
                                                                 collection of the Center for Creative Photography (CCP) in Tuc-
                                                                 son - of his sixty-year career are exhibited at the Palazzo Reale
                                                                 in Milan in the exhibition “Richard Avedon. Relationship” until
                                                                 next January 29th. The secret of his powerful photography? It
                                                                 all lies in the relationships - as the title of the exhibition suggests,
                                                                 and not surprisingly - which after a first part dedicated to great
                                                                 portraits, reviews the hundreds of covers that the American pho-
                                                                 tographer shot for Vogue, focusing on the world of fashion. The
                                                                 iconic Nastassja Kinski nude wrapped in a snake gives the glan-
                                                                 ce: “You can have a dif erent look even in front of images seen
                                                                 and reviewed and notice, for example, the perfection of Avedon
                                                                 in a striking but minimalist photo like that of Kinski, to see how
                                                                 the curve of the elbow exactly matches that of the reptile’s body ”,                                                  ADYTON
